Known issues & manufacturer programs

Model-level evidence, not a diagnosis of this VIN. Warranty programs, service bulletins and recalls are different. Confirm applicability with the manufacturer.

CVT warranty extension documented by Nissan

Possible match: transmission not decoded

Manufacturer warranty program (not a recall)

Nissan documented extended coverage for eligible CVT assemblies and related components to 84 months or 84,000 miles, whichever occurs first. A matching model does not establish a defect in this vehicle.

Before buying: Ask for CVT service and replacement records. Have an independent mechanic check transmission operation, diagnostic codes, and any reported shudder, hesitation or unusual noise.

Eligibility: The age/mileage limits may already have passed. Ask a Nissan dealer to verify this VIN, original in-service date, mileage and all program conditions.

History reports & salvage auction checks

A VIN decode is not an accident, title or auction-history report.

Check for title brands, total loss, flood damage, odometer entries and prior salvage auctions. Copart/IAA listings, damage photographs and repairs may not appear in every report.

Auction-history status: not checked. Snap.VIN does not yet have a licensed Copart/IAA history feed. No missing record should be treated as proof the car was never wrecked.

Provider checkout is external; prices, coverage, refunds and terms are set by the provider. Snap.VIN does not currently sell third-party reports.

Could insurance cost more?

Premium estimate: unavailable. A VIN alone cannot reliably determine whether your insurance will be more expensive.

  • Get quotes for this exact VIN before buying; model-level claim losses are not your premium.
  • Compare identical coverage limits, deductibles and drivers across insurers.
  • Location, driving history, mileage, coverage and vehicle repair costs affect the quote.

Compare HLDI insurance losses by make/model. These are historical claim losses relative to average, not quote prices or personalized risk scores.

Snap.VIN is not offering insurance, collecting quote leads or sending your personal details to an insurer.

Before-you-buy checklist

Checklist ticks are not saved. A history report is not a substitute for an independent inspection.

Issue: Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2015-2017 LEAF and 2014, 2016 and 2017 Sentra vehicles. Due to a manufacturing error within the air bag inflators, the passenger frontal air bag may not properly deploy in the event of a crash.

Risk: In the event of a crash, if the front passenger air bag doesn't deploy properly, it can increase the risk of injury to passengers.

Remedy: Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will replace the front passenger air bag inflator, free of charge. The recall began June 7, 2017. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-647-7261.

Risk: If the wiring harness disconnects, the passenger air bag may not to deploy during a crash, increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy: Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the wiring harness connector for proper engagement and, if necessary, replace the passenger air bag module and main body harness, free of charge. Issue: Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain model year 2013-2016 Sentra vehicles manufactured June 4, 2012, to April 9, 2016. The deformed seat bracket may cause the Occupant Classification System (OCS) to incorrectly classify the installed CRS, resulting in the front passenger air bag to not be turned off as designed when a CRS is in the seat.

Risk: If the frontal passenger air bag deploys in the event of a crash when a child seat is installed in the front passenger seat, there will be an increased risk of injury to the child in the CRS.
